The UMD Bulldog women's hockey team was swept by Minnesota, November 2nd/3rd at Amsoil Arena.

After a scoreless tight first period, the UMD women gave up 3 goals in a 4 minute span in middle of the 2nd period and fell to Minnesota 4-1 tonight. Minnesota’s Bethany Brausen scored the first goal at 9:29 of the second period, and teammate Maryanne Menefee scored her first of two goals just 30 seconds later. Menefee’s second goal at 13:23 of the second period put the Gophers up 3-0. Jamie Kenyon (from Vanessa Thibault and Zoe Hickel) gave UMD some life with a third period goal 6:05 into the third period, cutting the score to 3-1. Gopher Megan Bozek answered at 12:35 of the third period to put them back up 4-1, the final score. Amanda Kessel and Hannah Brandt each had two assists for Minnesota. Noora Räty (now 11-0 on the season after the sweep) stopped 23 of 24 UMD shots, and Kayla Black stopped 23 of 27 Minnesota shots.

On Saturday, Räty shut out the 'Dogs 4-0, stopping 17 UMD shots. Megan Bozek led the Gophers with 2 goals, while Amanda Kessel and Rachel Ramsey scored their other goals.
