The UMD Women's hockey team had to settle for a tie Vs. Boston University, Saturday, December 8 at Amsoil Arena. The Terriers scored the only goal of the first two periods, with Jenelle Kohanchuk scoring at 10:56 of the first period. UMD out shot Boston University 21-15 over the first two periods but couldn't put a puck in the net.

In the third period, a Brigette Lacquette (from Shara Jasper) blast from the blue line beat Boston U goaltender Kerrin Sperry, at 3:24 of the period. Zoe Hickel (Lacquette and Katie Wilson) gave UMD a 2-1 lead at 16:20 of the period, after Wilson skated the puck OUT of the UMD zone to get a line change, then skated through the B.U. defense finding Lacquette on her left, who in turn found Hickel across the slot to put a shot past Sperry, who was laying on the ice trying to make a play. Boston U thought they tied the game under a minute later when a goal was waved off due to a high stick, BUT, the Terriers then did tie the game at 17:51 of the period, just 1:31 after Hickel's go ahead goal. UMD was 0 of 4 on the powerplay, while B.U. was 0 of 2. Kayla Black stopped 19 of 21 shots she faced, while Sperry stopped 28 of 30 UMD shots.

On Sunday, the Bulldogs out shot Boston University 38-19, yet couldn't get a puck past Kerrin Sperry. Kayla Black stopped all 19 Terriers shots, resulting in a 0-0 overtime tie, the first UMD Womens' hockey scoreless tie in the programs history. Jenna McParland put 7 shots on Sperry, while Katie Wilson and Zoe Hickel each put 6 shots on goal. UMD outshot B.U. in every period, 10-8 in the first, 13-5 in the second, 11-4 in the third, and 4-2 in the 5 minute overtime session.
