The Bulldog women's hockey started a two game series with Bemidji State University, with a 4-1 win November 19, 2011. Jessica Wong (from Katie Wilson and Audrey Cournoyer) put UMD on the board first, on a powerplay goal at 4:19 of the opening period. That powerplay goal was quickly answered by a Montana Vichorek (from Marlee Wheelhouse and Emily Erickson) powerplay goal for Bemidji, to even the score. Cournoyer put UMD back on top at 9:38 (Jenna McParland and Shara Jasper) and Haley Irwin (Brigette Lacquette and McParland) made it a 4-1 game at 10:35.

Cournoyer (Lacquette and Wilson) scored the only goal of the second period, putting a shot over Zuzana Tomcikova's glove hand to put UMD up 4-1 at 19:47 of the period.

Neither team scored in the third period. Jenny Harss stopped 28 of 29 Bemidji shots in the win, while Tomcikova stopped 29 of 33 UMD shots taking the loss.



On Sunday, the Dogs dropped a 4-3 decision to Bemidji State. Vanessa Thibault put UMD up 1-0, with the only goal of the first period, just 1:50 into the game. Bemidji's Emily Erickson scored the only goal of the second period, at 8:38, to tie the game at 1. Montana Vichorek's powerplay goal gave Bemidji a 2-1 lead at 3:03, then Erickson scored again 15 seconds later (3:18) to put the Beavers up 3-1. Audrey Cournoyer snuck a shot between Tomcikova and the post/crossbar to cut the lead to 3-2 at 8:36. Sadie Lundquist's powerplay goal at 14:46 proved to be the game winner, putting Bemidji ahead 4-2. Zoe Hickel cut the lead to 4-3 at 19:23, and UMD had a couple of chances in the final seconds but couldn't tie the game before the final horn. Bemidji's Erika Wheelhouse had two assists, while Vichorek and Erickson assisted on the Lundquist goal. Katie Wilson picked up two assists for the 'Dogs. Tomcikova stopped 33 of 36 shots faced on Sunday, while Jenny Harss stopped 23 of 27 Bemidji shots.
