The UMD Women's Basketball team defeated Michigan Tech 83-82 on a last second 3-pointer by Alyssa Kerkhoff. The Bulldogs rallied from a first half where they shot under 23% (8 of 35) and were behind 45-32 at the half. The Bulldogs shot 14 of 18 from the free throw line, managing to keep the score reachable. UMD's second half shooting was 55.6% (15 for 27) with another 17 of 18 shots from the free throw line in outscoring the Huskies 51-37 in the half.

Kerkhoff led the Bulldogs with 20 points, shooting 6 of 12 from the field (2 of 4 from 3 point, including the game winner) and 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Katrina Newman had a double double, scoring 16 points and leading the team with 10 rebounds, while shooting a perfect 8 of 8 for free throws. Hannah Rutten was 3 of 10 shooting, but also had 6 free throws for 12 game points before leaving the game with an injury after taking a charge on defense. Courtney Doucette was 2 of 5 from 3 point land, and also added 5 free throws for 11 points.
