The UMD Women's Basketball team defeated Minnesota State-Moorhead 54-50 on Senior Night, February 16, 2013. Katrina Newman scored 28 points and had 9 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs. Senior point guard Kaiya Sygulla had 6 assists, while Jessica Newman added 5. 6'5 Bulldog freshman Abbie Whitney played 12 second half minutes (16 total) scoring 7 points and forcing Moorhead to look for outside points, where they were only 1 of 9 from three-point land in the second half.
