The Bulldogs got down 2-0 in the first period on goals by Badgers' Justin Schultz and Podge Turnbull, then spent a bunch of the second period killing penalties, and were down 3-0 after the second period. In the third period, UMD was on the powerplaya lot of the period instead of killing penalties, but couldn't light the lamp until Joe Basaraba scored with 1:59 left in the period. Travis Oleksuk cut the Badger lead to 3-2 with 25 seconds left, but UMD ran out of time to get the tying goal. Kenny Reiter stopped 23 of 26 shots faced, and UMD held Wisconsin without a single shot on goal in the third period.
