With a goal in each period, the UMD Men's hockey team defeated the Team USA U18 National Developmental Team, 3-1, January 26, 2013 at Amsoil Arena. Mike Seidel (from Justin Crandall and Luke McManus) scored in the first period, Justin Crandall (Wade Bergman, Adam Krause) in the second, and Caleb Herbert (Tony Cameranesi, Andy Welinski) in the third period. Michael McCarron scored the U18's lone goal in the second period. Thatcher Demko stopped 31 of 34 UMD shots for the U18 team, while the trio of Matt McNeely, Alex Fons, and Aaron Crandall stopped 24 of 25 shots for the UMD win.
