The UMD men's basketball team defeated Michigan Tech 70-58 in Romano Gymnasium, November 17, 2012. Brett Ervin led the Bulldogs with 20 points, including the first 11 points the 'Dogs scored, in the first 4 minutes of the game. Ervin shot 7 of 13, including 2 three-point field goals in the opening stretch. Jake Hottenstine added 12 points and 5 assists, while teammates Reece Zoelle and Calahan Skogman each scored 10 points for the 'Dogs. UMD shot 10 of 20 from beyond the three-point line, compared to Tech's 4 of 18 from deep. Ali Haidar was the only Michigan Tech player to reach double figures in scoring, putting up 22 points on 8 of 16 shooting.

Austin Pohlen led UMD on the boards with 7, Skogman had 6, Jordan Reetz and Zoelle each had 5 boards, helping UMD out rebounded the Huskies for the game 40 to 32.
