on The Duluth Clydesdales fell to the Minnesota Iron Rangers 4-3, with 5 seconds left in overtime, in the Clydes 2012-13 home debut at Heritage Center, September 23, 2012. The Clydesdales were outshot by a huge margin in the first period, but notched a goal by Zachary Zanoya (assisted by Dillon Mershon and Brandon Blauer) on their third shot of the period, with 5:02 left in the period. Kevin Phillips (from Zanoya) gave the Clydes a 2-0 lead at 13:18 of the second period.

The Iron Rangers came out fast in the third period, cutting the Clydes lead to 2-1 just 31 seconds into the period, with the first of two goals by Joey Haydock (unassisted). Haydock's second goal (from Jonathon Losurdo, Trevor Hoth) at 6:12 of the period tied the game at 2. Darrick Howard (Ian Reffert, Austin Snedden) put the Clydesdales back up front at 15:39 of the period, but the Rangers' Trevor Hoth managed to tie the game with just 4 seconds left in regulation.

The Rangers' Jonathon Losurdo caught the Clydesdales defense in a line change, and jumped on an loose puck with just 5 seconds left in overtime, putting a slapshot past Clydes' goaltender Dom DeGuiseppi for the game winner.
