In the second game the 'Jacks blocks held Superior in check, building a large lead the entire game, to taking game two 25-15. Cloquet made a big run in the third game, from a 5-5 score to 13-6, and continued to build a lead after a Superior timeout, to take game three 25-14.

Superior built a big lead in game four, 6-0 before a Cloquet timeout, with middle hitter Jessica Lindstrom making kill after kill in the early points. The largest lead in game four came at 16-6, when the Lumberjacks climbed back into the match, winning six straight points to cut the Superior lead to 16-12, then 17-19, but Superior ran off the next 6 points to take the game 25-17.
