The Lumberjacks volleyball team defeated Ashland 3 games to 1 in a Lake Superior Conference volleyball match in Cloquet, October 4, 2012. Olivia Mayasich led the Lumberjacks with 15 kills, while Kristie Wappes and Sami Westendorf each scored 8 kills and 21 digs. Alex Oakes scored 35 set assists and 12 digs. Westendorf also recorded 7 ace serves in the match. Ashland had 3 players in with double digit kills, Nicole Wiebe with 15 and Nicole and Kaela Huber each with 10 kills. The Oredockers' Casey Cashman scored 23 digs.
