The Lumberjacks fell to Hermantown 2-1 at NWCUA February 2, 2012. Brian LeBlanc scored the first Hermantown goal, at 11:23 of the first period. Karson Kuhlman tied the game for Cloquet, at 10:31 of the second period, and Jared Thomas gave Hermantown back their lead at 15:41 of the period. Hermantown killed off a third period 5 minute major penalty, that started as a 5 on 3 and ended on another 5 on 3. John Scheuer stopped 21 of 23 Hermantown shots, while Hermantown goaltender Matt Mensinger stopped 19 of 20 Lumberjack shots.
